Free site for Red Cross
Money saved to help families
1/29/2009 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Woodstown, NJ - Websketching has long been committed to giving back to the community and has shown that generosity once again by donating a website to the Salem County Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Lori Mosher, Financial Development Specialist for the Salem County Chapter, responded to a "contest" posted on Websketching.com which sought after potential recipients to receive a free website. The contest asked applicants to send in a 500 word essay addressing the topic "How our organization benefits the community and how a website will help us achieve our goals".

The essay sent in by Lori Mosher talked about the numerous efforts to provide relief to victims of disaster and to help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

"Just as it is hard to condense everything that we do into a 500 word essay, it is difficult to make the public aware of all of the services available to them through the Salem County Chapter of the American Red Cross." wrote Mosher, "Our community is in desperate need of a user-friendly website that is not overwhelming. Currently we do not have the ability to put up important information and links for disaster and emergency preparedness. Salem County has long been in need of a more informative and elegant chapter website."

"Our organization is run entirely on donated dollars from donors throughout Salem County. We are not funded by the government and 98% of the work is done by volunteers. The $3,373.20 we would save from your donation of time and energy will provide 3 more families with temporary lodging, new clothes, bedding, food and a new security deposit after their homes are destroyed by a fire."

The newly designed website was launched this week and can be found at www.arc-salem.org. The website features a content management system which will allow the Red Cross to keep the website up to date without the need to pay a web developer.

Websketching offers a free website every six months to a deserving Non-Profit, Church, School, Park, Government Agency, Community or Special Interest Group located in the South Jersey area. Applications are currently being accepted online at www.Websketching.com. Previous recipients of a free website include: Giant Pumpkin Carve (benefits Meals on Wheels of Salem County); "Ashwood" Community Girl Scouts; SPLASH; and the Woodstown-Pilesgrove School Foundation.
